Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Sophie and Juan from Year 11 received this year’s Victor Chang School Science Award, established in 2004 to honour cardiac surgeon Dr Victor Chang. The award recognises gifted students who demonstrate tenacity, curiosity, and commitment to STEM, encouraging them to pursue meaningful careers in these fields. Congratulations to Sophie and Juan for their outstanding achievements and dedication to Science!
During Science Week, students enjoyed hands-on experiments that brought chemistry and physics to life. Highlights included the Rainbow Tube Experiment, where they created colourful seven-layered tubes to explore the pH scale, and a lemon battery activity, where they powered an LED light using chemical energy from lemons. The week was filled with excitement, creativity, and discovery.
Our Year 7 and 8 Debating team secured their third consecutive win in a tough debate against Plumpton High. Through skill, teamwork, and determination, they delivered an impressive performance and have advanced to the next round. Congratulations to the team—we’re proud and cheering you on!
"We love our school for its supportive community and commitment to every student’s success. Our child feels safe and inspired every day.” — a parent of Colyton High School
