Vocational education and training (VET)

NSW Public Schools Registered Training Organisations deliver a range of courses leading to industry qualifications. These courses are delivered in school, by qualified teachers giving you access to industry standard training within your day to day school timetable.

School-based VET teachers are skilled practitioners in their field and up to date with current industry practice. You will have access to industry standard training facilities at school and/or in the workplace and through work placement can develop workplace behaviours and attitudes sought after by employers.

Stage 6 VET courses are designed for students in Years 11 and 12. These courses develop the skills and knowledge leading you toward a successful transition from school to employment or further education and training. In some cases, these courses may lead to direct entry in a related university course.

VET courses can count towards a student’s ATAR ONLY if students sit for the external HSC exam (in addition to successfully completing school-based assessment).

Subjects offered in Stage 6 (Year 11 & 12)
