UNSW Legal Studies Work Shop

Student Legal Education Group (SLEG), is a not-for-profit organisation that operates in conjunction with the Faculty of Law & Justice at UNSW.

Since its inception 50 years ago, the Faculty has steadfastly promoted social justice and community education about legal issues. SLEG continues that work by recognising the importance of legal education for disadvantaged and regional communities.

SLEG provides an invaluable opportunity for students and community groups to gain a foundational understanding of legal issues and information in a practical context.

As volunteers and students of UNSW Law & Justice, SLEG has been instilled with an appreciation and passion for justice and advocacy throughout their education. SLEG has a commitment to engage, educate and empower individuals, with goals to improve access to justice and provide accurate, universal legal knowledge to young people and the community.
Presentations are delivered by a group of trained, UNSW Law students (usually 3-4 presenters) as well as a qualified Solicitor from Youth Law Australia, and typically run for 1-2 hours at your school

The workshop will be on the topic: Criminal Law and Police Powers
