University of NSW Campus Tour

Aboriginal students have an opportunity to visit University of New South Wales on Wednesday 19th June 2024. We will be going to Nura Gili at UNSW.

Nura Gili is our student-facing services, programs and study facility. Nura Gili offers study spaces and meeting places for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and researchers. Our team provides pathways for prospective Indigenous students to study in all UNSW faculties and programs. We also have a dedicated team who work to enhance the student experience for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, across student success, tutoring, workshops and events. Nura Gili's academic team manage all Indigenous Studies undergraduate and postgraduate courses and programs and the Higher Degree Research (HDR) strategy.

The students will be doing the following on the day:

  • Arrive and meet ambassadors @ UNSW Anzac Pde entrance (opposite L3 light rail stop)
  • UNSW Presentation
  • Campus tour and Nura Gili
  • Lunch (food vendors nearby can work out location on the day). Ambassadors will stay to answer any questions.

Students will meet Mr Lane and Haley Trist at St Marys Station at 8am on the shops side of the station, opposite the shops. Students will catch the train at 8:27am to Central, change trains to the Light Rail and catch it to UNSW. We will arrive at UNSW at 9:45am. Students will participate in the events listed above. Students and staff will be catching the Light Rail back at 1:15pm and will return back at St Marys Station at 2:45pm. Students will be dismissed from St Marys Station when we return. Students are to organise their own transport too and from the station. If students miss the arrival time to St Marys Station, we will not wait for them due to time constraints for the event. If students are returning late on the day, students or staff will contact carers and inform of new return time.

On the day, students must wear full school uniform, bring their opal card, bring food and drink on the day, money as we may have time to visit some food outlets on campus and wear comfortable footwear to be prepared to walk in all weather conditions. Students will be supervised by Mr Lane and supported by Haley Trist. This is a FREE event for students to participate in.
